GIRLS

Cure

In “GIRLS”, the performers explore themes such as growing up, first sexual experiences and sex education across several generations of women: they discuss physical self-determination, the “loss of virginity” and how much they feared unwanted pregnancies. Through intimate research into family histories against the backdrop of post-Yugoslav history, the performers encounter shame, lust and silence. In addition to conversations with their grandmothers and mothers, the authors drew inspiration for this documentary performance from workshops with young people.
