Accessibility

Information and Contact
Sara Gröning, project management
Mail: barrierefrei@krfrm.de

‘Starke Stücke’ festival wants to actively work on lowering barriers and creating more and better access to performing arts for young audiences. Participation in cultural life for people with disabilities or chronic illness is a fundamental right and we are aware that dealing with barriers is an ongoing process. ‘Starke Stücke’ intends to be a good host for artists and audiences alike.

The venues are very different and so are the performances. Currently, we are not yet able to cater to all accessibility needs. We welcome your feedback and look forward to growing together and to expanding our programme.

What we do

Overview venues
We collect information on accessibility and access barriers. Our local colleagues are also happy to provide information.
There is an overview of all the festival venues and the local contact persons. You can find this overview here.
For some venues, there are videos on how to get there that also give an impression of the audience space, foyers etc. These are updated regularly and we hope to provide video guides to all venues in the future. You can find all videos starting january 2025 here.

What else there is to know - sensory and content information
We provide information on the content and sensory aspects of all our performances. Those can be read before attending the theatre. You can find all the information in the text for the performances here. They are also displayed at the theatre venues.
Content notes mean that you find out which topics are covered in the perfoamnce. For example, if the perfomance is about violence or loss, you know this beforehand. Sensory cues mean that you can find out whether, for example, fog, strobe lighting or loud noises are used in a performance.
